Ready for winterThe trellis is in and the vines planted. Straw is spread on the slopes to prevent erosion until the cover crop can be established.

We erected our first building for storing the tractor and other equipment. When you climb Everest, you still need a base camp. -
Jordan tastes the grapesEven in the nursery some vines will have fruit. Jordan has found a vine with a few berries. Typically all fruit is removed from a vine until the 3rd year. -
Holes are being dug in order to plant the vines. It is a lot of work to dig over 8000 holes. -

More trellis workPosts are being pounded into the ground for the line posts in the trellis. -
Our QuarryWe have some very interesting features in the basalt in the quarry. We don't know the exact term for this, but we call it a starburst. -
Treating the soilAfter soil tests are taken, the PH is adjusted with lime and other fertilizer applied as needed. -
We discovered a year round spring that we plan to use for irrigation in the future. We are planning to put in a windmill to pump the water. -
The Future!Our friends at Momtazi Vineyard are raising our vines that will be planted. Thanks to Renee and Mo for their advice. -
Early SpringAfter the winter rains, we are ready to begin clearing the land of small rocks and sticks. All this is picked up by hand.
